In this video, the main topic talked about is how different types of peoples brains react while in love. She gives 3 different categories of the types of peoples brains in love. The first category is 15% dumped, second is 17% happily in love, and the researchers are still finding out the results of the people in marriages for years.
She gives a few short stories which in her opinion are good representations of strong powerful love. In the first short story, she tells the story of a Mayan man in love with a Mayan woman (his wife). Their temples were representations of their love. He built a temple for her in her honor to be buried in when dead just as he has for himself. the sun sets shadow hits both tombs and that shows the love for each other that will never die. She then explains the things people do for love. For example, dying, crying, sacraficing, and etc for love.
The lady compares the feeling of love to cocaine. The feeling inside you is unexplainable and hype, but the only difference is cocaine wears off after a little. Love is also just as addictive as drugs and they both contain the same symtoms. Love stays as that feeling whether you're currently in love, or going through heartbreak. Being in love gives you the motivation to better yourself most of the time. When in romantic love, you feels the motivation to improve everything you do in a positive way. Going through a break up is opposite though. When in heart break, you feel no motivation to do anything for anyone or even yourself. Most peoples actions decrease in improvement. It can take months, years or sometimes never to get over a love.
Love is in everyone. Even in the people you would least expect it from, its deep in there. Have you ever wondered why people feel the attraction to one certain person instead of any other person with the same qualities? Studies have shown that people are most attracted to people with alike interests and feeling as them. The question is, there could be a room full of people whos appearence attract you, and also with the same qualites and interests, but you will be attracted to one of the people more than any other person in the room. It's all science, but no one really knows how we can be so attracted to someone more than the nexzt person.
Overall what i learned from this TED talk is that love is in all shapes or forms. Everyone is different especially when it comes to love. The stories and adventures behind love is unexplainable for alot of people.
